How it works

Calm, practical tutoring for GCSE students with Special Educational Needs. Tutors choose the methods that fit each student. We interview every tutor and only work with people who are passionate about SEN, safeguarding-trained, Enhanced DBS-checked and insured. Sessions run online or in person across England and Wales.

How we help

Every student has some strengths and some barriers, as a result we never use a standardised teaching approach. We hire experienced educators and give them room to teach in their style. All tutors are carefully interviewed before joining Sunbeam and share our commitment to compassionate, engaging teaching. Each has up-to-date safeguarding training, insurance and an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Our method

Focused 60-minute sessions with varied tasks, short breaks, and plenty of encouragement. Tutors are experts in their field and teach in their own style. We link strategies back to classwork so progress and confidence translates to school.
